Should social media be grounds for firing an employee?

Social media should not be a place for firing an employee. Adults should have the right to post anything they want and should be responsible for what they do. If there was an inappropriate picture that was posted on the internet you don't know what was happening before or after the picture. It may look like that picture was inappropriate but could have been misleading. It doesn't matter what the employee does outside of his/her job, as long as s/he is a responsible worker and does his/her job as good as they can then social media should be out of the question for firing an employer.
